Urbanization has been a significant social phenomenon and developmental trend with the high-speed growth of Chinese economy from 1980s and has been influencing many aspects of China, however, the rapid expansion of urbanization has not absolutely changed the social boundary of rural community in China. In other words, for rural community, it doesn't totally convert into urban community and then form city lifestyle, which means there is no appearance of the end of village in rural China as some students have predicted. Then what has happened to countryside of China? In my viewpoint, rural community changes into a kind of non-agricultural society, called "urban village" from the perspective of urban geography follwoing rural economic structure from agriculture to non-agriculture. Nevertheless, forming of urban village leads to many knotty issues which are regarded as the problems of how to realize grass roots good governance and to expand open scope of village boundary in essence.Reviewing literatures concerning non-agriculturialization village and urbanization, we can separate models of community governance into two types, namely, elite predominance model and enterprise predominance model in terms of who conducts process of low-level community governance. Being applied to political practice, elite predominance model doesn't assure the sustainable development of grass roots community because of its huge risk characterized by rule of man. By contrast, to some extent, enterprise predominance model could overcome the shortcoming of elite predominance one, but its disadvantage lies in the uncertainty of business development in modern market conditions. In addation, as to the effectiveness of the two models solving the issue of open scope of village boundary, both of them don't break through the solitariness of social boundary in rural area, even adversely strengthening the extent of solitariness of low-level community. In consequence, within the process of urbanization, the two models above are unable to effectively figure out all the issues of urban village.Combining with the two models of grass roots governance, this paper raises a kind of new model, viz village-enterprise relations model to tackle all the problems stated above which contends separating village-enterprise relations should be paid more attention. So called "separating village-enterprise relations" refer to such a state where there are no mutually affliliated structural relations in personel, finance and daily management for village committee and business corporations in a rural community. The reason why the paper purposes a new model is that separating village-enterprise relations model not only covers the advantages of former two models, but also enables to solve the problem of how to form an open village community. By studying the case of Longhai Village located in Zhengzhou city of Henan province, the paper finds that with the business development of the grass roots community, gradually established separating village-enterprise relations model is conducive to enlarging open extent of village boundary and then to promoting the level of urbanization in the area.
