However, as the city of Rome is not built in a day, to grasp the context of Shanghai urban development, to explore the causes of the spatial distribution of five-star hotel, it is necessary to research the economic and social development in Shanghai area in thousands of years. In this paper, the discussion commenced from the unique strip spatial distribution of five-star hotels in Shanghai, to analyze the Production, development and change of economic factors and social factors in Shanghai Urban Geography. Put the exploring eyes on the production and development of the early settlement and gradually over backwards, to find a clue between the history and present. Then, find a better explanation of the unique distribution of five-star hotel Shanghai cases, and thus to predict its future development. This first part of this paper is formed of the Chapterâ… and Chapterâ…¡. The first chapter defines the relevant concepts, introduces the research background, significance and research methods and techniques routes. The second chapter introduced the current research situation in the related fields. The second part forms the main parts of the paper, which is divided into four chapters. The first chapter in this part introduced the present spatial distribution of five-star hotel in Shanghai, starting with the Group operating conditions, then stated the strip spatial distribution of five-star hotels in Shanghai. The second chapter in this part started the discussion from the evolution of history and geography in Shanghai, using qualitative analysis method to explore the course of development in Shanghai. By the discussion about the river shipping, the change of the settlements, the rising of the port and the prosperity of concession area, pointed out the social and economic elements which formed in process of the historical and geographical changes in Shanghai are the Causes and conditions for the existence of the spatial distribution of five-star hotel in Shanghai. Firstly, the cluster analysis, gave a quantitative descriptions of the spatial distribution of five-star hotel in Shanghai by clusters. Then through the correlation analysis of impact factor, obtained the most significant influence factors on the issue of spatial distribution of five-star hotels in Shanghai among plenty of variables. Based on the most significant variables which influence the spatial distribution of five-star hotel in shanghai derived from previous correlation analysis, using these variables as the explanatory variables of discriminant analysis, generate discriminant formula and got the distriminant chart of five-star hotels in shanghai, in order to make the prediction of the developing trend of the spatial distribution of five-star hotels in shanghai on a solid quantitative foundation. The third part of the text summed up the characteristics of spatial distribution of five-star hotel in Shanghai, the relationship between the historical-geographical background and the spatial distribution of five-star hotel, and summarized the results related to impact factor and development trend derived from the quantitative analysis.
