With the advance of economic globalization and the rise of electronic information technology, China's third-party logistics industry is rapidly developing and growing, but the openning of logistics market and diversification development of customer requirements render the development of 3PL in our country faces increasingly fierce competition. In this context, how to change the living dilemma. of low price and implement scientific pricing and make full use of capacity so that domestic 3PL can achieve logistics revenue maximization while getting rid of low-price and malignant competition are the most pressing issue China's logistics enterprise facing currently. By reading a large number of domestic and foreign related literatures, reference the successful application of revenue management in the aviation industry and other sectors, this paper proposes to introduce the revenue management thought into transport service of 3PL in China, so as to providing new solutions and strategies for transport pricing and utilization of transport capacity.This paper first introduces the meaning and feature of revenue management and the characteristics of transportation service of 3PL, pointing out that the implementation of revenue management for transport service of 3PL is feasible, and then analyzing the influencing factors of transportation revenue of 3PL and their impact on the earnings, noting that the impact factors of transportation revenue of 3PL are divided into internal factors and external factors, internal factors include the enterprise's own transport cost and transport capacity, external factors include prices paid by their customers and customer requirements, in which focused on analyzing the existing pricing methods and transport capacity utilization status and their impact on the transport earnings, on this basis, it proposes to study on transport service and capacity utilization of 3PL usng revenue management methods.For pricing issue, the paper gives a pricing strategy for transportation revenue management of 3PL using economic theory such as market segmentation and differential pricing. Specifically, first it proposes to subdivide the transportation market of 3PL based on time and price, and gives segmentation strategy and subdivision restrictions for different types of customer, on this basis, it proposes differential pricing strategy taking into account customer satisfaction, specifically as follows:implementing three-tier price system in customer segments based on price elasticity, and in all market segments, taking into account customer satisfaction, implementing price discount mechanism committing to the completion of delivery.For transport capacity utilization issue, referencing the overbooking thought of revenue management, under the premise of transportation service booking, the paper gives the meaning of transport capacity overbooking and points out its significance, on this base, it constructs overbooking models of transport capacity of 3PL considering and don't considering the return empty trucks scheduling, and compares the difference of overbooking levels of the two models, finally it simply applies the two models through examples, verifying the basic feasibility of the model and approach.As the revenue management research and application in China is at an early, there is not yet a large number of research literature of revenue management of 3PL in China can been learned from, this paper innovatively puts forward introducing revenue management into the transportation services of 3PL in China, the analysis is relatively superficial, it inevitably will appears content which considers not very thoughtful, and thus considering problems which should been paid attention in practical application and key points of implementation for the proposed pricing strategies and transport capacity overbooking models of revenue management of 3PL, but still imperfect, there are many problems can be taken as future research directions of the subject which needed further study.
