Migrant Workers Return And Social Adjustment Problems In The Context Of The Financial Turmoil

Under the circumstances of the Financial Storm in 2008,there appears a phenomenon that large gathering of rural laborers left the cities and returned back to their hometown. This research study the case of the Fenghuang Country of Xiangxi Tujiazu Miaozu Autonomous Prefecture in Hunan Province, we try to understand the state of living, ways of living, states of mind of these rural laborers, and explore the potentially influence of their returning on their family, their neighborhoods, the challenge to the existing order in the village. Through this microcosmic investigation in-depth, we attempt to answer the following questions:what are the basic states of these rural laborers,why they choose to go back instead,what are the possible impact that would have on the economic development in their village, their social adaptation problems etc.From the case study of this survey, we try to predict the destiny of the rural laborers in MinZu district of Western region in the process of the Globalization.This paper mainly includes six chapters.The main topic of each part is like the following:In the first chapter, the researcher will discuss the purpose of the study, and point out the significance of this research, the basic train of the thought of this article, and the specific method that used in the survey, then we define the object of this study, and look back on the relevant research and materials in the home and abroad.In the second chapter, we retrospect the history of reflowing of the rural laborers since the foundation of the People's Republic of China, we put more emphasis on the current situation of these returning rural laborers especially after the Financial Storm in 2008.In the third chapter, we describe the current condition of the location we do the survey, especially the existing situation of the place we survey after the reflowing of rural laborers in the Financial Storm in 2008.This paper reflects the following characteristics of the returning rural laborers: they choose to return back because they made the comprehensive consideration based on their own; the expectation to have a better and wealthy life is the main reason they choose to work in cities and also the reason why they came back home after the Financial Storm; The potential impact of strength of the Finance Storm was different for various kinds of industries or companies.Chapter four, taking into account the place where these returning rural laborers would go,the right for using the land, the integration of the local community etc, we try to explore the potential effect of these returning rural laborers would have on their countryside.Chapter five, from view of the living adjustment, social relations adaptation, psychological adjustment, adjustment of the new generation of rural laborers, we analysis the social adaptation problems for these returning rural laborers.Chapter six, concerning the returning back of the rural laborers and their social adaptation, we discuss the following questions:the Modernization theory and the subjectivity of the rural laborers,the reflowing history of the rural laborers, their current situation, the relation between the role of the rural laborers plays and the development of the rural.The innovation part of this paper:focusing on the potential economic and social impact of these returning rural laborers have on their hometown,we study the mechanism of the origination of these returing rural laborers and their social adaptation in the Financial Storm.From this research,we found that the great economic development gap among different districts,among cities and countries,and the subjectivity of these rural labor have formed are all account for the phenomenon that those rural laborers came back home in the Financial Crisis.As a result, those rural laborers are likely to release their living burden in the local and pursue to find a job nearby. It is the problem of rural development generated the problem of returning rural laborers.The problem of the returning rural laborers are highly related with the future and the prospect of the rural.So we have to integrate the urban development with the rural district, try to balance the regional development, revitalize the rural economy, take the rural laborers mobility into institutionalization of legitimate channels.The weakness of this research can be summarized like this:Some problems need to give the further explanation; the method we used in the research is not perfect.
