With China's rapid economic development, urban and rural areas to promote the integration of urban construction land resources in the extensive use of the constraints on economic development is increasingly evident. Thus, on the intensive use of urban land has become an important issue at present, of which the division of functional areas for the study of great significance. In 2006, Chengdu, intensive land use potential evaluation projects, the experts classified into 43 functional areas to live, where to live in Qingyang District, number of functional areas 26.The main contents of this issue on the intensive use of urban land function zoning in urban studies were designed for city-based research unit, combined with Ministry of Land, "intensive use of urban land potential evaluation procedures (for trial implementation)" in the right The definition and classification of functional areas and functional areas for the current division of the problems and deficiencies, a study on urban functional area partition method, and divide the result with the expert analysis and comparison of functional areas. Through the common space of the current clustering algorithm based on the study, decided to adopt the Delaunay triangulation and Graham algorithm to achieve the automatic division of urban functional areas, and then the automatic classification based on the way through the manual processing, the final achieve urban function zoning.In this paper, Qingyang District, Chengdu, as a research area, will Qingyang District, Chengdu map as a test case of the underlying data. Prior to the division of functional areas, in order to ensure the authenticity of data and results, first of all on the map data, there is a conflict in the data lack the necessary information to conduct pre-processing field. In the pre-processing is completed, with trial procedures in the functional area definition, put forward the division of functional areas automated parameters needed for the conditions to introduce two different functional areas of the city division algorithm, and analyze their results to choose the more a reasonable algorithm. Automatically classified as functional area can not guarantee the integrity of the boundary cases, so the study through the manual processing, making the final result more in line with the actual situation. By the final analysis of the results can be seen in specialist residential division of the 26 functional areas, 8 functional areas of basic and functional zoning algorithm results coincide in 31% of the proportion of the remaining 18 functional areas are part of the overlap the ratio is at about 69%, from the outcome, to achieve a more satisfactory results.
