Objective:Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which has a high incidence in population, refers to a group of clinical manifestations as sour regurgitation, heartburn, chest pain, dysphagia, etc. caused by stomach and duodenal contents reflux into esophagus. It includes non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), reflux esophagitis (RE), and Barrett esophagus. It was considered that weakened anti-reflux mechanism and the damage caused by regurgitation of food were the main inducement of GERD. However, in recent research, psychological factor plays an important role in the progression of GERD. The objective of our research was trying to find the distribution regulation of symptoms of TCM by analyzing the comparison of psychological status and life quality of patients suffered with GERD.Methods:100 patients suffered with GERD accepted survey research, which including general information, clinical symptoms, psychological status and life quality evaluation. Gather the survey and analyze the results. Results:SDS scores and SDA scores of GERD patients were significantly higher than normal people (P<0.01); GERD patients quality of life in eight dimensions were significantly lower than normal people (P<0.01). In the distribution of TCM patterns, the rate of heat syndrome was higher than cold syndrome; the rate of excess pattern was higher than deficiency. Qi stagnant was the main pathological factors, phlegm was the second. The distribution of main mechanism was as follows:12cases were caused by disharmony of liver and stomach,11cases were caused by pathogenic heat in liver and stomach, 8cases were caused by qi and phlegm stagnant; 18cases were caused by qi stagnant and phlegm heat, 6cases were caused by qi and blood stagnant, 14cases were caused by deficiency and weak of spleen and wet stagnant; 5cased were caused by deficiency of spleen and stomach; 15cases were caused by mixed heat and cold, 6cases were caused by deficiency of yin of stomach. According to the result, qi stagnant and phlegm heat and mixed heat and cold were the main mechanism of GERD.Conclusion:GERD patients had different degrees of anxiety and depression and their quality of life was poor. It is very necessary to pay more attention on psychotherapy or drug treatment to improve their quality of life when treating GERD patients. The causative factor of GERD was pathogenic heat, excess pattern, mixed heat and wind. GERD was due to qi stagnant and phlegm. The principle of treatment was expelling pathogenic factors.
