Methods Forty-eight cases of patients with hyperlipidemia were divided randomly into ZXKC group (3 leases) and control group (l7cases). The patients in ZXKC group and control group were treated with ZXKC and Jinjiayixintong respectively. The changes of clinical symptoms and laboratory ind~exes in all the patients were observed before and after treatment. Forty-five rats with hyperlipid.cmia were dividedr-and.emly into ZXKC ~gr~tip (15 rats ), control group (15 rats) and mode! group (15 rats). The three groups were fed with high fat diet and ZXKC group and control group were given ZXKC and Jinjiayixintong respectively. Laboratory indexes in all the rats were determined. Results After the treatment with ZXKC, clinical symptoms were effectively improved. The serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride(TG), lipoprotein (a) (Lp(a)] in the patients decreased while the serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) increased. The total effective rates of relieving symptoms and reducing lipids were 96.8% and 93.5% respectively. These changes above are better than those of the control group (P
