In this study, we observe thc ellect of "Shi's twirling reinforcing and reducing acupuncture method?on the changes of enzyme activity interrelated with energy matabolism(succinic dehydrogenase, SDH;cytochrome oxidase, CCO; adenosine triphosphatase, ATPase), which are examined from the position far and near the point "zu san li" of healthy mice. We compare these mice with those non-acupunctured. The results show that: I After the "Shi's reinforcing method" the integral optical density, the total area and area pereetage of SDH, CCO and ATP asc misc evidently compared with the control group, which indicates the enhancement of enzyme activity. 2.After the "Shi's reducing method", the integral optical density, the total area and area percentage of SDI I, CCO and ATl1ase decline evidently compared with the control group, which indicates the decrease oh enzyme activity. This experiment indicates that tile changes of energy matabolism level a ftet applying the acupuncture method may be one of the mechanism of the skiln-temperature changes led by the acupuncture reinforeing and reducing method.
