objective: Finding the regular law of development of TCM syndrome of diabetic nephropathies and the relationship between the syndromes and the indexes, we can provide the evidence in clinic diagnosis in TCM, and can find more effective methods to treat the disease of DN.Methods: 189 DN cases that all up to the diagnosis-standards of DN were divided into the principal syndrome and the subordinate syndrome. The principal syndrome included:deficiency of Yin 8 cases,deficiency of Qi and Yin 37 cases,deficiency of Yin of the Liver and Kidney 59 cases,deficiency of Yang of the spleen and Kidney 55 cases, deficiency of Yin-Yang 30 cases.The subordinate syndrome included:exterior syndrome 11 cases,dampness-heat 33 cases,dampness 26 cases,blood-stasis 46 cases.Then,obser- ving statistically transforming of the level of Scr, Ccr, ALB, HGB, 24hupq of the DN cases, we searched for the relationship between the symptom-complex in TCM and them, and discussed the regular law of development of the mechanism and syndrome of DN. Results:With increasing of Scr, the principal syndrome changed from the deficiency of Yin and dryness-heat to the deficiency of Yin and Yang, Scr in the blood-stasiswas the highest than others, namely, the blood-stasis had the most incidence in the end stage of DN than others.Ccr had more relation to TCM syndrome than Scr.Ccr gradually decreased in the principal syndrome, Ccr was the lowest in the blood-stasis. Both HGB and ALB were correlated with the syndrome complex,while DN developed into the deficiency of the spleen and kidney, HGB and ALB decreased obviously.ALB was the lowest in the water-Qi syndrome, HGB was the lowest in the blood-stasis. 24hupq increased in the principal syndrome, Shui-Qi was very different with others in the subordinate syndrome. FBS and TC beared no relation to the condition of DN.ConcIusion:With variation of the indexes,the principal syndrome developed from the deficiency of Yin & dryness-heat to the deficiency of Qi and Yin, to the deficiency of Yin of the liver and kidney, to the deficiency of the spleen and kidney, and to the deficiency of Yin and Yang in turn.The subordinate syndrome developed from the exo genous affection to the damp-heat, to the water-Qi, and to the blood-stasis.In company with the development of DN,the law of syndrome-complex is: from the deficiency of Qi and Yin, to the deficiency of Yang,at last,to the deficiency of Yin and Yang.
