This research analyzed the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of traditional Chineseherbs Zhuling Tang to treat IgA nephropathy based on the systematic analysis of the ancientand present research documents about the disease. The paper has two parts: theoretic and experimental studies.The former firstly analyzed the understanding knowledge of modern medicine, preventing,treatment thought and new treatment progress on IgA nephropathy. Second, it discussed therules and the research state of the disease control with traditional Chinese medicine. Third, itprobed into the relation of erythrocyte-immunity and IgA nephropathy. Finally, it reviewedthe past and present documents about Zhuling Tang scientifically. The experimental studies included three parts. 1.Setting up the model of IgA nephropathy The experiment established the model of IgA nephropathy selecting Approaches ofImmunity complex (IC) through intestinal infection methods. The results showed that thepatients in model group appeared blood urine, protein urine, and abnormal nephritic functions.The immune-pathology showed that the area of glomerulus's mesangial cells occurred thesediment of IC, and it cohered the diagnosis standards. This indicated that the model issuccessful. In the meantime, the counts of urinary erythrocytes,Uriprotein for 24hr, Cr,BUNand immunity-fluorescence-sediments of the kidneys were tested. In order to analyze theetiology mechanism of IgA nephropathy and observe the effects of pharmaceuticals,theauthor examined the function of erythrocyte-immunity, and fond the model could give rise tothe decline of it. 2.The effects and relations between quantity and efficiency of Zhuling Tangtreating Ig A nephropathy The results suggested that Zhuling Tang could relieve the clinical symptoms such asblood urine, protein urine, and lessen the damage of the kidney functions. The pathologyanalysis demonstrated that the level of IgA sediment in areas of mesangial cells of treatinggroup was significantly lower than that in model group, and this indicate a good result. Tocompare the relation between quantity and efficiency of Zhuling Tang treating IgAnephropathy, three groups including large, medium, and small were divided. The findingAbstract 3illustrated the effects in large and medium treating group were significant (p<0.01, p<0.05). 3.The immune-regulation effect of Zhuling Tang The study focused on observing the effect of Zhuling Tang on the function oferythrocyte-immunity of rats with IgA nephropathy. The author fond that Zhuling Tang couldimprove the functions of erythrocyte C3b receiver, and advance combining ability with IC soas to lessen the sediment of them in mesangial areas ,and finally alleviated the symptoms ofthe disease. Conclusions: ZhulingTang has good clinical consequences for IgA nephropathy. Itsmechanism may include: regulations for immunity-confusion, improving the secondarydepress of erythrocyte-immunity functions in rats with IgA nephropathy.
