| Functional dyspepsia (FD) is a clinical syndrome . it's clinical manifestations are continuous or rapidly occurred epigastric discomfort , accompanied by abdominal distention after meal, gassiness, belch, anorexia, nausea ,vomiting, heartburn, pain behind sternum, regurgitation . It is a very commonly seen disease of digestive system. FD influences life quality seriously because of its long course and recurrence , the patients are afflicts physically and psychologically. There is no very effective method to treat it and its pathogenesis is still uncertain for the time being. There are more and more reports on treating this disease with the traditional Chinese medicine in the recent years and research on the traditional Chinese medicine has become more and more popular. As a famous traditional prescription of treating Epigastric Distension, zhizhu pills are widely used.The curative effect of the traditional Chinese medicine is influenced by many factors, including the difference in the variety of Chinese medicine herb, growing areas, harvesting seasons and the process of preparing Chinese medicine , which lead to the unstable curative effect in the clinical practice .Of all the influenced factors, the variety of Chinese medicine herb is the major one. As the result, it is of great importance to make a comparison between the same medicine made from different medical herbs before selecting the better one to use in the clinical practice .Immature fruit of Citrus aurantium(IFCA) and immature fruit of Citrus sinensis(IFCS) are both qualified Fructus aurantii immaturus. IFCA is most variety. In order to research wether zhizhu pills produced by IFCA and zhizhu pills produced by IFCS have different pharmacology effect and curative effect, under the direction of Tour Professor Wang Xinyue , I used two kinds of zhizhu pills to treat patients with the disease of functional dyspepsia.63 patients took part in the clinical experiment. They were devided into two groups randomly, three of them quited, the others were valid. There were 30 patients in Group 1 of zhizhu pills,treated by the zhizhu pills which were produced by IFCS. And 30 patients in Group 2 of zhizhu pills , treated by zhizhu pills which were produced by IFCA . 6g each time , three times a day. Both treatment course were 4 weeks. And through detect the clinical symptoms, gastrin, motilin, and gastric emptying of the two groups, we can investigate wether these two medicines have different effection or not.The results showed : both the group improved the overall symptoms effectly. After treatment, Group 1 and Group 2 have obvious difference in general curative effect. The general curative effect rate of Group 1 was 63.33%. The general curative effect rate of Group 2 was 86.67% ,which was superior to that of Group 1 (P<0.05) .The single effective rate on symptom improvement of Group 2 showed: epigastric distension account for 90%, abdominal pain account for 72.72%, anorexia account for 85.19%, all of the three symptoms were superior to that of Group 1 (P< 0.05) ; belching account for 91.67%, which was superior to that of Group 1 significantly (P<0.01) .
