Acupuncture And Massage For Treatment Of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy In Clinical Studies

The paper consists of two parts:the summaries of documents and a clinical observation.In the first part,there are two summaries of documents.The first one is about the research progress of diabetic peripheral neuropathy ( DPN ) in recent years.It mainly includes the cause of the disease.The second one introduces the treatment progress of DPN,including the west medicine,the herbs,acupuncture and moxibustion.There are many medicines used in clinic,but the curative effective is not so good,especially in the serious patients.On the contrary,the treatment of the herbs has a definite therapeutic effect on the DPN patients,especially acupuncture and moxibustion.The clinical observation part is about to investigate the effect of the acupuncture plus moxibustion treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy( DPN ).Methods:The patients of DPN were divided into two groups of 30 cases in each randomly.One group was treated with acupuncture plus moxibustion and the other with acupuncture only.And the changes of symptoms,the speed of the nerve transfermation and hemodynamics before and after treatment were checked.The results showed that the total effective rate of the acupuncture plus moxibustion group was 90.00% and the acupuncture group was 73.33%.Statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference between the two groups ( P<0.05 ) .At the same time,acupuncture can ameliorate the...
