Self Traditional Chinese Medicine, Clinical Research, Retain The Enema Decoction Treatment Of Chronic Nonspecific Ulcerative Colitis

Purpose: To observe the curative effects of ulcerative colitis treated by"With Self-made Decoction" enema of TCM and research the better therpay forulcerative colitis. To study thepathogenic mecha8nism and characteristics ofTCM of ulcertive colitis. To expound theprinciple of the curative effects of"With Self-made Decoction" enema with modern pharmacology.Subjects and Methods: 50 cases with ulcerative colitis meanwhile with deficiency of bothspleen and kidney Yang , internal stasis of dampness and heat and stagnant blood of TCMwere selected as the research subjects and were divided into two groups randomly. 25 caseswere selected as subjects treated by Chinese herbal Medicine planning treatment according todiagnosis of TCM combine with "With Self-made Decoction" enema reserved in colon for two months , 25cases were selected as contrasts, treated only by Chinese herbal medicine planningtreatment according to diagnosis of TCM and their period of treatment were the same.Results:The total curative effects, the improvement in the clinic symptoms andcolonendoscopy and pathologic histology of mucous membrane of colon of subjects were allbetter than those of contrasts(P<0. 05).Conclusions: (1) The curative effects of ulcerative colitis treated by "With Self-made Decoction" enemareserved in colon is good and this medicine merits further study and development. (2) Theenema of TCM reserved in colon is an important therapy for treating ulcerative colitis. (3)Thedeficiency of both spleen and kidney Yang, internal stasis of dampness and heat and stagnantblood are the mainly pathologic mechanism of TCM of ulcerative colitis. (4) "With Self-made Decoction" possesses the effects of warming the Yang and tonifying the yi, dissipating heat and detoxifying, eliminating the stagnant blood and activating the blood of TCM .the mechanismof curative effects of ulcerative colitis treated by "With Self-made Decoction" maybe concern with adjusting the bodys immune function , improving the blood circulation, resisting the stagnant blood and tiny thrombus, promoting the healing of ulcer ,etc. (5) There were neither toxicactions nor side effects in the treatment.
