Huaxia Shallot Preparation Treatment Of Fatty Liver Clinical Research

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Preparation of Chinese Allium fistulosum L.(PCAL)on patients with fatty liver,including the impact upon clinical symptoms and signs,blood lipids and liver function. Identifying the clinical curative effect and the security,investigating the possible mechanism and providing the clinical basis of Activating Yang Theory.Method:Methods:80 fatty liver patients(including out-patient and wards of department of Gastroenterology from the First Hospital of Wuhan City)consistent with the diagnostic criteria were selected from 2007-04 to 2007-12,classified them according to the diagnostic criteria of Traditional Chinese Medicine.The patients randomized into control group(40 cases)and PCAL group(40 cases).The former was administered with ZBT,3 capsule each time,bid.The latter was given PCAL,3 capsule each time,bid.Both treatment period were three months,two weeks after the withdrawal to observe the effect.Patients were no longer taking medication and followed-up monitoring.Result:Clinical observation study result,there were no significant difference in both groups with age,gender and course(P＞0.05),two groups of fatty liver symptoms were improved,the 87.5%total effective rate of PCAL group was better than ZBT group which had a total effective rate of 72.5%.Before and after treatment,changes in B-ultrasonic,CT and body mass index were significantly improved better than the control group(P＜0.05),levels of ALT,TC and LDL-C were significantly decreased while HDL-C were significantly increased.Conclusion:Activating Yang drug(PCAL)in alleviating symptoms of patients with fatty liver is better than that of ZBT,the mechanism may lie in the regulate lipid metabolism disorder,blocking oxidative stress and anti-lipid peroxidation.PCAL to cure on various types of fatty liver patients have a better clinical effect.From this we speculate," The obstruction of Yang " fatty liver is the common pathologic basis." The obstruction of Yang " throughout the pathogenesis of fatty liver and development of the whole process,activating yang have the exact effect of fatty liver,has good development research value,it is worth in-depth study.
