Studies On Chemical Constituents Of Evodia Rutaecarpa

Evodia Rutaecarpa,a traditional Chinese Medicine,which is the fruit of Evodia rutaecarpa(Juss) Benth,Evodia rutaecarpa(Juss) Benth var.officinalis(Dode) Huang.Evodia rutaecarpa(Juss) Benth var.bodinieri(Dode) Huang.Evodia rutaecarpa is usually called Wuyu,Milazi,which was recorded in the《Shen Nong's Herbal》firstly.It has been used as a kind Chinese traditional medicine(Chinese name "Wu-Zhu-Yu") and is used treat of headache,abdominal pain,dysentery,postpartum hemorrhage,amenorrhea,chill limbs,migraines,nausea and so on.The fruit of Evodia rutaecarpine was extracted by 85%alcohol to obtain crude extrats.The crude extrats was thus isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography,recrystallization and thin-layer chromatography.Twenty-t -hree compounts were isolated from Evodia rutaecarpine,among those the structures of nineteen compounts were determined through spectroscopy and phyricochemical propecties;while are 1-octadecanol(DT₁₅),taraxerone(DT₅),n-heptacos -yl alcohol(DT₁₉),n-dotriacontanol(DT₁₁),14-ursen-3-ol-1-one(DT₁₈),methyl coumarater(W-32-2), trans caffeic acid methylate(W28-1),evodiamine(ZWA₁),rutaec -arpine(ZWA₂),wuchuyuamineⅠ(W-33),β-daucosterol(DT₂₁),limonin(ZWB₁),β-sitosterol(DT₁₂), evocarpine(W-7-2),dehydroevodiamine(WZYC₁),quercetin(DT₁₀), 1-methyl-2-(Z)-7-tridecenyl-4-(1H)-quinolone(W-7-1),oleanolicacid(W-23) and c-affeine(W-32-6). Compounds 1-octadeeanol,taraxerone,n-heptacosyl alcohol,n-d -otriacontanol,14-ursen-3-ol-1-one,methyl coumamter,trans caffeic acid methylate and caffeine were isolated from this plant for the first time.
