Cardiovascular disease is the greatest threat to human health.Medical practices have proved that 70%-80%patients suffering burst arrhythmias could be saved,if the omen of arrhythmia is early found and the patient is timely rescued. Therefore, Electrocardiograph(ECG) Telemonitoring System, which provides doctors and nurses with timely and effective means for arrhythmia analysis, was proved to be important and meaningful. This dissertation described the implementation of a novel ECG Telemonitoring System, including two parts:portable terminal device and hospital monitoring center. This system can afford the patients with high risk heart diseases a long-term,real-time and continuous monitoring anywhere and anytime.Meanwhile, the position of patient would be simultaneously recorded.Experimental results indicate that the system can extract abnormal ECG and induce emergent rescue, according to patients' positions. It is reasonable to anticipate the clinical application prospect of the system to be prosperous.Furthermore,we have done an in-depth research of ECG data compression based on embedded portable terminal device.Firstly, various analysis and tests have been applied to conventional algorithms of direct ECG compression.Secondly,on the basis of previous works, two novel algorithms-slope threshold turning point(STTP) and double thresholds turning point(DTTP) were proposed. Finally, both the two algorithms were tested on a mass of ambulatory ECG.And the statistics proved that the proposed algorithms were outstandingly superior to conventional ones,in computing complexity, compression rate, distortion, etc.
