"Technical Writing"and"Technical Communication"are very popular and well-received in western countries, but they are rarely heard about in China. Judging from the letters, they are seemingly unrelated to professional translation, but a second thought may lead to a totally different answer.With the accelerated pace of internationalization and globalization, massive information is processed and transmitted every day in the interconnected world and more and more technical texts are produced and translated to facilitate communication among different peoples. It is exactly against this backdrop that technical writing and professional translation have gained greater importance.In this thesis, the author has elaborated on the interconnected relationship among technical writing, technical communication and professional translation. By reviewing the theory of communicative action, a detailed analysis is made on in what way translation and technical writing, both communicative actions, are closely connected and with this, the author suggests how the project management method and writing style of technical writing can be applied in professional translation to contribute to higher quality and how the two can complement each other.
