The criticism to artistic justice from the elite in modern China is the main object of this paper. The ending of the story, whether virtuous or not, gives vivid illustration to the so-called artistic justice. Furthermore, the ending coming from the supernatural power demonstrates the ultimate justice, which is realized via the religion justice.Before the 20th century, the elite in China agreed with the artistic justice in the ancient art. However, when it came to the 20th century, people began to criticize it. How and why did they make the criticized argument? Which theories of western did they use? Was there any opponent attitude, and why? Unfortunately, we know little about most of the above. This paper focuses on these issues and proposes our own argument, which may be benefit to the further research of artistic justice.This paper includes four chapters except the instruction, which is an analysis on the title of this paper. The first chapter introduces how the elite criticize the artistic justice in modern China. The second part gives an explanation of those criticize. In the third chapter, we discuss the western theories that have been used. Finally, we evaluate the criticism from the modern elite to the artistic justice. |
