The Miao ornament is very important in recording history and conveying culture, as if it's a gorgeous and historical picture of myths, migration and development of tribes. Miao has no its own written words in history, so these history and legends are passed on by oral communication and ornament record from generation to generation. The Miao ornament is passed on as a kind of post-abstract sign in passing of the history and culture. Since the sign of ornament is not only decorating our lives but also containing a plenty of historical and cultural information, it plays a role of cultural carrier. It established a huge mental world, expressed the emotional appeals and thinking style of Miao people by a materialization way, which embody rich cultural connotation and high artistic value. The Miao female ornament is featured with local female culture, since it recorded the process of Miao history and spirit and passed it on from generation to generation with great wisdom and nimble fingers of women. It is a constructive research in art design social life and social progress to study the Miao ornament art elements from the perspective of female culture, in order to explore the illuminations and applications in modern ornament art.Selection the formation of ornament elements for the cut-in point, the core of the paper is to make a systematic and deep study on the shape, style and formation rule. The last is the conclusion:it is to apply Miao ornament to modern decoration design as a characteristic element and to resesign creatively through multiple technology.The study of this topic has an important guidance function and referential value for the heritage and the development of Miao ornament art and the establishment of nationality-characteristic design art.
