Ancestral Chant Poetry

Zu Yong was a landscape and pastoral poet in Tang dynasty. His poems are lento and leisurely in the stroke of the brush, high and far in the opening remarks, true and implicative in the writing style; He was a famous poet at that time who attracted people's attention by his outstanding and distinctive personality. Despite of his few poems, he was considered as a talented poet by"Xin Tang Shu". His poems are not inferior even in Wang Wei and Meng Haoran's poetry anthology. His personality spirit is of reference significance at the present. However, the research on Zu Yong presently is restricted to sketchy biography and the interpretation of a certain poem, There is no more in-depth and comprehensive research. In reference on the basis of predecessors'achievements, this thesis tries to do more comprehensive research on Zu Yong and his poems.The part"Introduction"includes the research status,the evaluation from generation to generation﹑the selecting reason and the study meaning. The main text has three chapters: Zu Yong's biography and making friends﹑the study of Zu Yong's poems and the acception research of Zu Yong's poems. Chapter One tries to sketch out the overview of Zu Yong's lifetime more clearly and the association with his friends; To discuss his own reason and social factors of Zu Yong's personality formation; To explain the bitter and helplessness which"I intend to return pastoral house for no talent scout to appreciate me"contains. Chapter Two will analyze the natural and peaceful beauty of Zu Yong's landscape and pastoral poems, explore the plaint and true sentiment that his traveling poetry reveals; Feel Zu Yong's ideal of aiming for achievement; hope to discover the special beauty of his poem style. Chapter Three plans to discuss the acception that comes from Tang and Five Dynasties to Qing Dynasty, with the purpose of showing Zu Yong's influence in the past dynasties.
