Zongyuan Scientific Thought

Liu Zongyuan is a famous thinker , stateman and person of literature in Tang Dynasty. There is some achievement in scientific thought, too. But his scientific thought wasn抰 paid sufficient attention in a long time. Because of this , 1 do some complemental study in the thesis and expect to have some advantage to academic circles.Liu Zongyuan抯 scientific thought embodied firstly on the theory of regarding Yuanqi as the origin of the matter. Because the theory run through his whole Yuanqi theory. The Yuanqi existed in infinite space with?no cen~ tre ,no boundary?,so was it. Liu?s interpretation to person抯 talent gave rise to the controvert of the ademic circles. I explained the thing in the theory.Liu Zongyuan抯 scientific thought also embodied on his understanding to the nature and person. Liu experienced a course of believing~doubt and denying to the han Ren Gan Ying while the nature and person theory with?the nature and person didn抰 intervene each other?was formed. He denied destiny, paid attention to person and promoted the nature and person theory.Liu Zongyuan抯 astronomy theory was worth our discussing, too. He had no abundant astronomy knowledge, so he, on the one hand , interpreted the celestial body in XuanYe theory and on the other hand, interpreted the sun movement and the day and night in turn in GaiTian theory while HunTian theory was general adopted. We thought he had no systematic astronomy theory.
