The idea of Laotus'Utopia exerts great influence on later generations,meanwhile it occupies crucial positions in the history of Chinese political thought.However,because of the development of Taoism and its successors'incorrectly relaying erroneous messages,we can hardly perceive the true nature of Laotus idea.This thesis tries describing the pattern of Laotus Utopia by discovering Laotus life background,discussing the social influence on him and analyzing the origin of his thought.Therefore,it concludes the characteristies of Laotus Utopia and its influence on later generations.The purpose of this thesis is to recover the true nature of Laotus Utopia and to let it be used for reference.
