Product is a symbol system that exists as a medium of information. It contains all kinds of information, such as technical information, semantic information and aesthetic information according to the constructional elements of symbol and its constructive properties. These information are organized into a product by designers and are conveyed to customers then used by customers. People including designers and customers are also living information objects. Man is always involved in relationships with products of his environment and the information in man and product are always interacting. They can converge or diverge. So the designer's task is to encode product's information reasonably according to the people's demanding.In order to encode product's information reasonably, designer should know how product's information constructs and the information demanding state of customers and the process of customer's recognizing product's information and the rules of information being translated in this communication system. I hope to find some theories foundations in these related subjects, such as symbolism, product's form studying, information communication, recognizing psychology etc, for analyzing the system of product information communication better.The analyzing method of the paper adopting is from the part to the whole then to the part. Firstly, from the subjects of symbolism and information, the paper discusses the properties of the two information things, product and people, then it analyzes the regularity of information's constructing, transforming and transmitting in the communication system of product in which product is center and people is essential. Then according to traditional communication modes, the product communication mode is promoted. Finally, an important part of the product communication梩he process of encoding the product's information is emphasized specially in order to find more efficient approaches of designing.
