Holmes Rolston, the American ecological philosopher, once said:" When we were not exploring the resources but our roots, ......peoplewould find that the natural environment is our mother who has been breeding us and we can not leave for any moment." Thus, to begin with the relationship between human beings and the nature, this article focused on the crisis of spiritual ecology underlying that of natural ecology expressed through ecological literature. The difficult position of living resulted from the intertwine of the two kinds of crisis was the historical background of ecological literature. This article not only analysized this historical background of ecological literature's birth, gave its conception, and explored its existing forms, but also exhibited the completely new idea of values that ecological literature contained. Ecological literature not only provided spiritual resources for the ongoing spiritual revolution, but also is in itself a part of this revolution. It was also a kind of aesthetic rehearsal for this revolution. The important theoretical originality of this article is that the concept of ecological literature was defined and the completely new idea of values of this literature was explored. |
