Double-object clause pattern is an important one in modern Chinese. This paper starts with the formation conditions of double-object clause, divides this pattern into normal and abnormal categories, pays a close attention to the formation conditions of abnormal double-object patterns and their syntactic and semantic features, and explores the condition meaning of abnormal double-object patterns on the basis of construction grammar. The main contents include:1. Starting from the deep-level semantic relationship, we categorize those patterns according to the different formation conditions and pay more attention to the sub-categorization of abnormal double-object clause.2. Abnormal constituents becoming part of objects and thus forming a double-object pattern, semantic categories like locatives and instruments, when becoming object, have a certain semantic relationship with the subject, predicate and the other object of this pattern.3. With the predicate-implicit double-object clause due to the causation of predicates and the role of the implicit predicate, they contain two semantic representations and they reflect a certain cause and effect relationship4. Whether normal or abnormal, the construction meaning both reflects "causative" meaning, which as a core pragmatic meaning unifies these two categories of double-object patterns.
