Ye Shengtao 's fairy tales which were created from early 20s to middle 30s in 20 century are always looked at as the original works of modern children's literature of china .From the day that Ye Shengtao announced the first fairy tale {(Xiao Bai Chuan)) ,his fairy tales have been respected very much .At that time ,many specialists of children's literature theory remarked on Ye Shengtao's fairy tales .They confirmed the cardinal status of Ye Shengtao's fairy tales ,but they thought whether Ye Shengtao's fairy tales could be accepted by children .As the times changed quickly ,as the years that Ye Shengtao created fairy tales were far away ,from 50s Ye Shengtao was respected as the developer of realism fairy tale of china by all the people .His fairy tales were looked at as the two apotheosis of thinking and art ,and been hung at the sky . But ,the fact that nowadays children don't like his fairy tales is real.Facing the research situation of Ye Shengtao'fairy tales ,1 spread out to discuss the issue from the three aspects .One is the individual cardinal status of Ye Shengtao'fairy tale ;Two is the essence of children's literature of Ye Shengtao's fairy tales which were created at the years when children had not their status; Three is to cognizance the essence of Ye Shengtao's realism fairy tales .Through discussing to indicate the accuracy location of Ye Shengtao's fairy tales on the history of children' literature of china .The central aspect of my article is conformed of three aspects .On the first aspect I mostly adopt the method of literature history ,through testifying and clearing up to the history fact in order to look for the important status of Ye Shengtao'fairy tales on the initial period of children's literature of china .On the second aspect I mostly assay the works to recognize the children'literature essence of Ye Shengtao's fairy tales at the idiosyncratic history period. On the third aspect I want to clarify the misunderstanding of relationship of fantacy and reality which is existing all the time through getting to know the realistic description of Ye Shengtao'sfairy tales Secondly.So, the value of Ye Shengtao'fairy tales is a kind of value of literature history .Any value that is unduly good or unduly bad is not accurate .
