The revival of Chu ?tzu Hsiieh accompanies the decline of Confuci-cianism in Chinese modern history. It is the result of the development of the traditional learning as well as the spreading of Western learning.Represented by "Dengshi, Zhang Taiyan and Liu Shipei, the scholars who recommended the renaissance and the Quintessence of native culture and based their study on integration of Han Learning and western cul-ture, created a new systematic school. It revived Chu - tzu Hsiieh which had been buried in oblivion for thousands of years, by developing it from philology to philosophy. The revival of classical noncanonical philosophies broke up the domination of Confucicianism in ideololgical field by retro-specting the culture origin in Pre-Qin Period.The schools of Quintessence,who focus their study on Hsun-Tzu, Mo - Tzu, Logicians and academic history of Pre - Qin Period , provided a constructive opinion on renewing the learing in modern history . As an inheritance of Qing Learning,it formed a critical learning against Confu-cicianism and oversteped the tradition by renaissance. It belongs to the Enlightment in modern time because of claiming for the end of confuci-cianism period. It acts as a very important role in conversion of Chinese culture from tradition to modern ,and its Chinese - Western value is not only a response to the spreading of Western culture but a serious retrospection to traditional learning.
