The Gracefulness Of Prose Language

The elegance of prose is related to its basic style features . The present article tried to do the theoretic study systematically to disclose some basic rules of the writing of prose .The article was devided into 10 parts .The 1st part is the introduction of article . The writer showed the two main causes to study the elegance of prose language in it .In the 2nd part , by analyzing "elegance" from two angles , expounding and proving that the generative mechanism of " elegance " is " harmony " , the writer put forward the main argument of this article : the elegance of prose comes from natural harmony .The main body of the article is from part 3 to part 9 .Here , the writer analyzed and demonstrate the argument explicitly from two aspects : from the angle of the whole character , the autonomy of prose language was shown of the characters of fictitiousness , psychological implication and innovation ; while the nonautonomy of it was shown in those of reality, communicativeness and practicality . The elegance of prose language lies in the harmonious unity of autonomy and nonautonomy . These were written in the 3rd part . From the 4th to 9th part , the writer analyzed from the angle of the basic dimension . There are four dimensions in prose language , such as lexical, phonetic , image and connotation dimension . Theelegance of prose language not only lies in the harmony of the separate dimensions but in the harmony of the four dimensions as a whole .The 10th part is the part of summary , the writer made a conclusion to the article and pointed out the realistic importance of the study of the elegance of language .
