Gadamer, one of the most famous philosophers in the modern Western, is the founder of philosophical hermeneutics. His theories exert a significant influence on the history of modern western philosophy. Language is the origin and destination of hermeneutics, which has always been associated with the development of hermeneutics. First, we carry out comprehensive exploration of Gadamer's view of language from Ontology dimension, history dimension as well as application dimension. From the ontological perspective, Gadamer proposed that Human was existence of language, and language played the role of general mediation during the understanding process, so"what can be understood is language"; From historical dimension, Gadamer proposed that understanding was the process of "fusion of horizons" between the reader and the author, in other words, both two sides make an infinite dialogue; From the dimension of application, Gadamer stressed that understanding was the process of applying language. The differences between these three dimensions are obvious, but there is also an intrinsic connection between them due to the fact that his thoughts are systemic and coherent. Therefore, Gadamer criticized the rationalism and empirical scientific method of modern times, showing the Cultural meaning of Philosophical Hermeneutic. At last, we extend the practice in related subject with the result of our research.
