Tang dynasty was famous for its splendid achievement of poetry. Research on the natural rhythm of poetry in Tang dynasty is not only the analysis of literature form, but also an applied research on the rule of sound structure. It is an intercrossed-discipline research subject and a trailblazing research. This dissertation attempts to deal with all the poems in Tang dynasty by establishing database and adopting the method of mathematical statistics, and draws the following conclusions: First, we input all the poems in Tang dynasty and converted them into database file, which are included 25 volumes of the poetry in Tang Dynasty and 3 volumes of the supplement to the poetry in Tang Dynasty. The total amount of poetry in Tang Dynasty is 57,379. The amount of Five-character verse and Seven-character verse occupied 88.1% of the total amount. Second, we designed the computer-assisted language information processing system to access the database, and labeled the phonological status inquiry of poem character, including the rhyme scheme, rhyme league, tone and tonal pattern. Third, we analyzed the rhyme scheme of Five-character verse (29,105) and Seven-character verse (21,433), and drew the conclusion of the rhyme scheme of first sentence. Forth, we processed quantity analysis on the rhyme scheme of Five-character and Eight-sentence verse (15,370), contrasted with the rhyme width, and drew the table of the count of rhyme's word and Rhyming Category. Fifth, we divided the types of poetry (14,416), and drew the amount form of ancient-verse and regular-verse by stages. On the other hand, we drew the tonal patterns of ancient-verse and regular-verse by frequency statistics.
