Forty Artistic Taste. "a Dream Of Red Mansions" Re-evaluation

This paper discusses shitouji(the story of stone) and hongloumeng(the dream of mansion), the two transcrips books of Hongloumeng written by Cao Xueqin, and the point that last forty chapters of Hongloumeng inherit former eighty chapters of hongloumeng, i.e. the both of which are concord with narrative method, character description, basic plot development, etc. On the view of thought and art, last forty chapters of Hongloumeng basically inherit artistic way in narrative of former eighty chapters of Hongloumeng, and describe lots of live models, last forty chapters and former eighty chapters of Hongloumeng describe the whole process of the development of characters affected by circumstance, thus achieve all the characters'modelling. Furthermore, last forty chapters of Hongloumeng widen life scenes and deepen the topic on the base of former eighty chapters of Hongloumeng. In a word, last forty chapters as well as former eighty chapters of Hongloumeng are the most excellent of Chinese classical fictions.
