While talking about women, people will naturally consider marriage, love, rearing children, family life, etc. Actually, women alway plays multiple roles in different social reals: she is an individual, a menber of a family, even a part of our society. Whatsmore, they perform various acts in the long process of history. This paper focuses the women in Zhou Dynaty on three roles, analyzes their complicated survival condition, by lifting the veil of history, in The Book of Songs.Chapter One: Women are the sacrifice of mood. Regard them as isolated life, we should first concern about the emotional world, and in this chapter, I'm going to study the position of the women in Zhou Dynasty through the angle of marriage life.1. As they are borne, women are printed with sexual discrimination. 2.Love beautifies women. In the pursuit of love, women's glamoure, personality and emotion are presented completly. However, because of their living in different time, place, the nervines in love are divided into different classes: One is that they have absolute liberty in pursueing love and happiness; the other is that those women are neglected, deprived of their rights, and endure pressure from family or society under the bondage of propriety system.Chapter Two: Marriage is the home of love. As a wife, women change their roles continuously according to their family, their personaity.1. In the poems on marriage and plantation in The Book of Songs , women play an important part in family life. They are newly married husband and wife, or cooperate in farm.2.Yet in some tragic marriage life, some women suffer a lot in hard possition, and turn to be the sacrifice of tragic marriage.Anabysis: The ersense of marriage is the echo of two hearts in man and woman. Yet in that social circumstance, their complete equalitycan't really arrive, while leads to the coming of tragedy. There is contingency in leading to tragedy, it depending on family or personality.Chapter Three: Politics is the right of men. And in Zhou Dynasty, women are limited to a very small stage to present their ability in politics.1. Men, as spokesmen of family, appear in social community. The unique feature of arm and war identifies men's political position. The coming of patriarchal clan system is the mark of the ultimate realization and consolidation of their political position. Their different political position are reflected in poems about war or grumbing women in The Book of Songs.2. However, the history of women's being oppressed, is also the history of women's struggle. The women in Zhou Dynasty identify themselves in different ways: one is that they positively participate in goverment and political affairs; the other is women are subconsciously rolled into politics.Above all, based on The Book of Songs, this paper reaches the ideas after careful discussion on personality, family and society. That is the reversion of matriachal system is a world-wide failure towomen. With the development of history, the decline of women's position becomes more obvious. As portraged in The Book of Songs , women in Zhou Danasty once had comparatively free surival space because of their different living time, place.
