Xu Kun is a radical female writer with a uniqe characteristic in the 1990s. This lies in her chatting about male elite in her works with mock male identity, that is to say, she has created a path different from "private experiences" in the female literature with her marginal identity as a radical feminist. Moreover, she emphasizes her own rationality with texual strategy of play and carnival in order to doubt the intellectual's elite conciousness. She has shown her ''popularized" attitude to her deep concern about secular life of both sexes. She is unique in the contemporary female writers in her narrative style of humour with validity and parody without slipptery that is based on her occational carnival catharsis and elite monologue discourse. In short, Xu Kun's works differ from the "saver's" enlightenment texts of the cultural elite. And she does not indulge in secular desire and flattery. Thus she has adequately shown her unique character and light-heartedness in her shifting between the elite and the popular culture.
