Job satisfaction is a general subject attitude that the employee is satisfied with his current job or not.Based on the review of the theories, assessments and current researches of job satisfaction, this study investigated personality traits, job stress and job satisfaction and theirs relationship among Macao civil servants. The scales used in this study, with high reliability and validity, are Type A/B Inventory, Job Stress Scale and Job Satisfaction Index. The results showed that: 1) Based on the analysis of "strength of consciousness", Macao civil servants perceived job stress at a medium level and their job satisfaction experience tended to be at a higher level. 2) There were significant differences in the demography characteristics of Macao civil servants in the job stress and job satisfaction. For example, the female experienced higher satisfaction than the male on overall and pay satisfaction facets; the unmarried felt more depression and experienced lower colleagues satisfaction; the administer perceived higher anxious and experienced higher promotion and colleagues satisfaction than the technician. But there were no significant differences in the other aspects, such as among different age stages. 3) There were significant negative correlations between job stress and job satisfaction in different degrees, which did not include pay satisfaction. 4) The results of multiple stepwise regression analysis were as follows: influenced by the different personality trait, the overall facets except anxious in job stress and age stages in the demography characteristics, had different level of predictability for the different facet in job satisfaction, especially the low self-esteem; nevertheless, all of these were not obvious.Finally, at the end of the paper, we gave some pieces of advice to the department of policy-making and human resources in our government, which based on the results of this study. And we also gave them some advisable ideas regarding the integration of relevant theories of stress management and job satisfaction.
