Nowadays, "job burnout" commonly exists in all kinds of jobs. Itadversely affects organizations' efficiency and efficacy. Thus, propermanagement on staff's job burnout to sustain continuous growth onproductivity is a very important issue in our modern management field.This research which is conducted in questionnaire survey focuses on thecivil servants currently serving in Macao SAR. It aims to explore theirpersonal changes, their job burnout and the relative factors affecting their jobburnout under the governance and management system after Macao'ssovereignty handover back to Mainland China. The research findings are asfollows: (1) the degree of job burnout of the civil servants approaches to amedium level indicating that the situation is not so bad; (2) there is asignificant difference in the job burnout among individuals in terms of thevariables such as their personal backgrounds and various aspects. The surveyfinds that the age group of 30-39 scores the most in job burnout. The jobburnout level of the group of bachelor/master degree holders is relativelyhigher than that of the other groups with other educational qualification. Thesurvey also shows that the people being employed in contractual basis reachthe highest average burnout level. In addition, various factors of personalbackground such as sex, marriage status, length of period working in publicsector and job position carry insignificant difference; (3) the analysis ofrelative factors find that the two factors (working characteristics and jobsatisfaction) have very significant negative relation with job burnout while theother factor (pressure of role play) has very significant positive relation withjob burnout. Among these three factors, job satisfaction has the greatestinfluence on job burnout.
