Hume, Kant, Causal View Of Comparison

Causality is an extremely important and key issue which runs conversation discussed and argued endlessly now in the field of western philosophy. On this aspect, Hume and Kant are two important milestones. Their understanding, analysis and solution on causal theory all have had important influence on the development of philosophy of later periods. So, by studying their different explanations on the issue of causation, analysing and comparing their contact principle and philosophical essence on this issue ,we can strengthen the understanding on western philosophy and find meaning .This dissertation straightens out the development course of forefathers' opinions on causality and systematically analyses the difference and similarity of opinion on causality of Hume and Kant .On the aspect of methodology, under the premise of admitting their idealism, we can see their difference of dichotomy and syllogism, experience and the transcendental; On the aspect of epistemology, this essay systematically researches basic issues such as causal different understanding of sensible world and intelligible world ; On the aspect of ontology , causation mainly embodies on the issues of criticizing to argument for the existence of God and relation between freedom and necessity .Both Hume and Kant deny the argument for the existence of God (but Kant makes the God back in practical reason ). On the issue of freedom and necessity, Hume makes natural appearance and normal appearance principles the same, but Kant strictly distinguishes the field of appearance and morality. Kant's opinion on causality, which is effected by Hume's opinion on causality has established it's unique theoretic system, put force it's novel concepts and mode of thinking, raised human beings' status of main body, emphasized people's initiative and found out a brand new way on the producing of Marxist opinion on freedom of practical category.
