Epigraphy occupies an important position among the academic affairs of Qing Dynasty, and it has rich fruits and, far-reaching consequence. It also brings rather important play for calligraphy. However, this function has still not received all-round clearing-up and research until now. This paper attempts to strive to collect and sort out quite a lot of Epigraphers' research achievements of calligraphy within its energy, and hope to put this problem forward from macroscopic viewpoint.The paper, is subdivided into four parts besides Introduction and Conclusion. The Introduction simply states the research situation, research goal and predictable value of this research project.Part I. This part briefly look back the history of Epigraphy and place emphasis on arranging the development situation of Epigraphy of Qing Dynasty, then on its basis to sum up the academic features of Epigraphy.Tart II. This part analyzes the influence of the Epigraphy of Qing Dynasty on Calligraphy Studies in three ways: A through and profound grade of all kinds of studies Viewpoint supplement and the influence of communication. The first way it expounds the most completely learning and art have taken shape as an unified entity on the individual scholar. The second way, through academic viewpoint, it put forward to making-up un-known research fields of Calligraphy studies; The third way; the influence of inter-human communication and the importance can't be ignored among academic-communication.Part III. This part explores the Epigraphy of Qing Dynasty's influence on Calligraphy Studies from macroscopic viewpoint, that is two core aspects of calligraphy studies: one is aesthetic concept; the other is the historical concept of calligraphy. After analyzing, the paper considers the concept of Epigraphy (certainly include some other reasons) which result in the basic ideas, setting questions and concept of Calligraphy Studies, which all arouse re-building completely and re-explanation, thereby it established a set of Calligraphy Studies system which not only contain the elementary spirit of classical Calligraphy Studies, but also it contains brand new frame and carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future.Part IV. This part explores the influence of Epigraphy of Qing Dynasty on the practice of calligraphy. Firstly, it explores the change of skill concept and tool aspect; Secondly, if follows closely the subject concerning Epigraphy by means of the frame of the calligraphy's style, and briefly, remarkably describes the calligraphy evolution under the background of Epigraphy.The conclusion: The research achievements of Epigraphy are very rich, it gives irreplaceable plat in exploring ancient works, offering new concepts and building-up new system, and it becomes one of the most important part of academic basis and the re-flourishing of calligraphy culture of Qing Dynasty.
