The Republic Of Birth Control And Thoughts

Among numerous social trends of thought in Modern China, Birth-Control thought in the Republic of China hasn't got enough attention by academic circles. In my eyes, although this trend of thought was not conspicuous, it was an important page in Chinese history of the thought. It was the first time in Chinese history that the theory and method of Birth-Control were expounded consciously, purposely, and on a large scale. It was significant and far-reaching.In this article, the main clue is the development trace of Birth-Control thought. Through the introduction of the former five chapters, it will be shown: the Chinese social environment to admit the view on Birth-Control which stemming from the West; the forming and deeping of the intellectual's view on Birth-Control and their great efforts to promote this trend of thought; the substantial contents of the view on Birth-Control; the difficult developing, and the complicated reason which lead Birth-Control thought to the end. The last chapter give the grief remarks. From macroscopic angle, it is analysed that the connection and difference between Birth-Control thought in China and Birth-Control Movement in the West, the significance and influence of Birth-Control thought in China.
