On The Southwest Of The Poet Group "objective Lyrical Strategy

As a composing colony of Chinese Modernist Poetry of 1940's, the poets group of the Southwestern United University (SUU) has been into the study area of modern literature due to its particular existing manner(semi-close institutive space during war time) and mature modernist style, and has become more and more famous attributing to Mu Dan's great works.From the point of" objective lyricism", this dissertation analyzes the group's native feature of modernism. At the same time, based on their poets, discusses the possible factors and strategies which improve the effect of objective lyricism, including Dramatization, Image and Intellect. Dramatization not only means the establishment of modern life attitude and distance aesthetics, but also includes some material writing skills such as contradictions, factors of novel and drama, in order to make poem objective with objective and indirect expression. Image utilizes the implication of "Objective Correlative" to express emotion indirectly from another way. It can be divided into three levels: description, metaphor and symbolization. With poets' personal feelings and their viewpoints penetrating more, the implication increase and the effect of objective lyricism become stronger as well. With the combination of wit, rationalism and sensibility, and the group's especial pursuits of metaphysics idea and poetical philosophy, Intellect make it possible to be away even banish from the traditional lyricism, forming objective lyric style.This dissertation is divided into three parallel parts: dramatics, image and intellect. In the term of method, it considers all the studies of influence, reception and comparison, and combines abstractive theoretic analysis with actual text reading. While the author admits the great effect from the West accepted by the poets of SUU, she pays much attention to the internal mental mechanism and external real conditions by which this influences can be functional, to gain the independent aesthetic value finally during the process of indigenization.
