Following the Historical Marxism, this thesis analyzes the economic development and structural changes of TengChow Fu in the Late Qing by economic and positive method, in order to find out the economic position and the main character of this district after Chefoo becoming a opening commercial port.Part I introduces the physical condition and economical development of TengChow Fu. After becoming an opening economical port, foreign trade of Chefoo developed and increases rapidly, and it helps the economical development and transformation of economical structure of TengChow Fu.Part II relates the changes of commodity economy of agriculture with the development of port trading and handicraft industry. With the changes of commodity economy, the capitalist production relation appears in agriculture.Part III discusses the transformation of industrial economy of TengChow Fu in the Late Qing .The changes of traditional handicraft industry, the rise of new handicraft industry and the appearance of modern industry are the main characters of industrial economy.Part IV analyzes the number of goods circulation increasing and the forms of circulation changing, according to the commercial agriculture and industry of the TengChow Fu in the late Qing. The modern market system consists of the primary market in the rural markets and temple fairs, the middle market in the market towns and county towns and the central market in Chefoo. In this way , the primary city in JiaoDong region -Chefoo.Part V elaborates the adjustment of merchant capital. The traditional capitals make out changes. During this period, new kinds of modem merchant capital-Broker's Storehouses started rising.The last part is the conclusion. The author points out the economic position and the characters of the TengChow Fu in the Late Qing.
