Tang Dynasty In Henan Province Agricultural Research

The paper studies mostly the agriculture in Henan area of Tang Dynasty from the following several aspects: agriculture geography environment, population resources, irrigation works, crops planting and distributing, stockbreeding and fishery. Looking from the geography environment, warm and humid climate condition was the important guarantee to the agriculture of Henan area; looking from the population resources, the area was upmost in population. During the Anshi chaos a lot of refugee fled to other area, but many people went back to the area after the chaos. This provided labour forces for Henan area; Looking form the irrigation works, many works were built or repeated before the Tang Dynasty, and many works were still brought into play in the Tang evening. Those all provided help in irrigation. Looking from the plantation of the crop growing and distributing, mollets and wheats are spacious, rice were planted in ample water resources. Economic crops such as mulberry, fruit tree, vegetable, tea tree and herbs were planted in many area. Those aspects boost the tendency of agricultural commercialization of Henan area; Looking from the development of husbandry, on the one hand it provided meat products, on the other hand it provided livestock power; Looking from the fishery, the area's fishery developed slowly, but manual breed fish had already appeared, and this made people get fish products abundant in the ordinary life. All the Tang dynasty, Henan area's agriculture went through comeback-development-destroy-comeback once more several moments: Henan area's agriculture level was on top level speed all the country before Anshi chaos; After Anshi chaos, the area's agriculture was influenced. Time after time, Henan area's agriculture was not still developed during and after the Tang Dynasty.
