Chu Department Of Tombs South Of Henan Province Is A Preliminary Study

In the area of Southern Henan, there are many little stations in Spring and Autumn Period and later it was ruled by Chu station. In recent years, the number of reported tombs of Chu System is nearly to 670. Based on the form of the tombs, burial equipment and the features, and with the help of local environment in Eastern Zhou period, the thesis divides all tombs in Southern Henan into three districts: the Southwest of Henan, the Upper of Huaihe River,the valley of the Ru River and the Ying River. The thesis also according to the variety of the form of the tombs and burial equipment, divides the tombs into six stages, they are the early, middle and late period of the Spring and Autumn Period; the early, middle and late period of Waning states.Basing on the above-mentioned research , the thesis analyzes the cultural characteristic of each district. In the Southwest of Henan,there are small amount of tombs of Zeng and Shen in the early of the Spring and Autumn Period and its main current is Central Plain culture;there are a lot of various Chu tombs from the middle of Spring and Autumn Period to the middle of warring stastes and most of them are the square tombs with sacrificial person and traffic pits;there are only small amount of little Chu tombs in the late period of Warring states.In the Upper of Huaihe River, there are a lot of tombs of Huang, Fan, Yang and Pan in the early and middle of the Spring and Autumn Period and the main current is mainland culture with burial equipment box; there are some tombs of Wu, Cai, and Chu in the late of the Spring and Autumn Period and its main current is factor of Chu culture; there are a lot of various Chu tombs in the Warring states Period, most of them are a number of rooms in chamber and the heap of soil on it. Funeral objects mainly include pottery and lacquerware.In the valley of the Ru River and the Ying River, there are various Chu tombs of Warring states Period and they were mainly affected by Central Plain culture, a lot of them are a number of rooms in chamber and the heap of soil on it. Funeral objects mainly include jade plate.The tombs of Chu System in Southern Henan is close with the Chu tombs in northwestern Hubei, eastern Hubei, Central Anhui, and the Eastern Zhou tombs in Central Plain area,meanwhile, it makes important effect on the tombs of Qin and Han Dynasty.
