This paper makes a comparative study of the phonogram in Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng and the extant Da Xu Version of Shuo Wen, and conclude the Characteristics of phonogram in Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng and analyses its contribution as well as errors. Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng, composed by Zhu Junsheng, makes great efforts to classify and verify the Da Xu Version of Shuo Wen. His rectification on phonogram is worth our attention. About Zhu Junsheng's rectification on phonogram, some experts such as Zhu Xing thinks that it is not perfect. But even to this day there is no comprehensive research on Zhu Junsheng's rectification. This paper is attempting to make a determinate contrast about phonogram between the above two works so as to present a panorama of rectification on phonogram. The paper pays more attention to database statistics about Zhu Junsheng's rectification on phonogram to the Da Xu Version of Shuo Wen. It is not analyze the reasons of Zhu Junsheng's rectification in detail. The paper consists of four chapters: Chapter One servers as an introduction. This part tells about the purpose of the work, the recent research in this field and the methods as well as the procedure of the composition. Chapter Two specializes Zhu Jun Sheng's rectification on the phonetic part which is not found in the Da Xu Version of Shuo Wen. Chapter Three makes a comparison between phonogram in Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng and the extant Da Xu Version of Shuo Wen, and lists out some superficial analysis about the reasons of Zhu Junsheng's rectification. Chaper four comments on Zhu Junsheng's rectification in terms of contributions and errors. Based on the method of statistics, the article compares and analyzes all the phonogram in the two books, then makes a contrastive analysis and draws a conclusion. The outcome of this research is detailed and accurate.
