Since last century, with the introduction of western culture, china has been undergoing a more and more heated debate over the renovation of its painting. This essay begins with the evolution of Japanese painting from its tradition to modernity; discuss a series of creative innovation taking place in Japanese painting and its modern development in terms of material and forms; analyzes its impact on Chinese present meticulous painting drawing on the basis of current situation and developing environment in china, much emphasis being made on the development trend of modern Chinese's meticulous painting drawing.In recent years, through consideration of Chinese painting and reorganization of its painting tradition by Chinese painters, color is universally held as a breakthrough point of reform. To fully display the manifestation of color, Chinese painters turn to meticulous painting drawing, rethinking aesthetic concepts in traditional painting on one hand, learning from western ideas and modern Japanese painting techniques. The author does not intend or encourage that innovation of modern strong color meticulous drawing painting should imitate Japan completely; from aesthetic idea of Chinese, we are not in favor of some works and forms in Japanese paintings. Instead, the author holds that if to renovate our idea about, overcome difficulties in and speed expansion of Chinese strong color painting, we need to research and learn from our Japanesecounterpart. However, it is the innovative spirit and painting skills that we should learn from Japanese works, not the works themselves.
