In Western countries, the concept of Biennale already has a history of over one hundred years. The appearance and perfection of the curator system has built upon all previous success and recognized past failures .It developed gradually and has formed a nearly perfect system of norms in a large number of practices. China's Biennale events started less than ten years ago, and it has introduced western standards and combined them with valuable native experience already, but the system bears a great deal of imperfections. Among them, the curator system is a subject needing conscientious study. This text mainly combines two very representative planning practices of Chinese official biennale, in order to describe the fact that in the course of curating Chinese biennales, both similarities to western practices and uniquely Chinese practices are combined, with good and bad results. We consider what is valuable in a biennale, what is a real curator, what is relatively normal curator system, and point out the experience and existing problems when a curator system is used. The article is divided into four parts altogether: First, according to comment, the importance of domestic and foreign biennales, pay attention to the basic situation of the biennale curator system, consider some basic concepts and effective operating mechanisms in the curator system; The second part, taking Shanghai's biennale and Beijing's biennale as examples, describes evaluates and analyzes the current situation of the domestic curator system; The third part further considers the basic quality of the Chinese biennale curator and the Chinese basic value orientation of Chinese biennales, etc.; The fourth part draws conclusions about the article as a whole.
