In the early 90s last century Liu Zhenyun took steps decidedly to change himself from Writing realistically to compiling history, expressing his completely new understanding and realizing. People began to experience something new by book reading. History that has been fixed in daily life demonstrated a certain kind of quirkiness and special feature. In the direct cultural context, from the late 80s to the early 90s, the existing literature was confronted with new choice. Therefore, historical narration that kept away from social reality and was not completely excluded by the centered-oriented ideology naturally provided people with a creation port. When so many historians focused on historical problems, Liu Zhenyun chose the same narrating visual angle, but it did not absolutely slide over or escape from special politics and culture, and focused on expatiating history. After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, in the artery ideology, collectivity took the place of individual, founded their own outlook of the history. In the 80s, people began to get rid of the extremely left-leaning policy, but novels was perceived as the reverter of historical reality which was seen as the natural process of historical creation. With the appearance of the newly-formed market economy, people eventually began to be doubtful of history in the fiery turbulence brought about economic reformation. Confronting commodity and money, the system of the literature expressionism came forth with certain crisis. Expectation and longing people had in 1980s were suddenly shattered or destroyed. People began to cast doubt on Construction of history and explanation to all activities of reality dominated by the historical concept. The age in which history should be rewritten came at last inevitably. Liu Zhenyun was alert to the change and realized the age feature, so as to open out a dialogue with history and be after the truth of the age. in the form of his serious of novels in the name of "country", and stepped on the way of resolving the secret of the history. At the beginning of the 90s, he created novels such as 《Gu xiang tian xia huang hua》,《Gu xiang xiang chu liu chuan》,two new historical novels. In the middle of the 90s, he spent eight years writing four-volume novel《s Gu xiang mian he hua duo》( more than two million words in all). 《Gu xiang tian xia huang hua》demonstrated a strong new historical concept, Liu skillfully took the "authentic history"manipulated or controlled by artery ideology as the main subversion and jocosity body. He, in a kind of popular angle of view, expressed his prospect of historical life hidden in the magnificent narrating. History in his work was treated with as space-time system, in the structure of seemingly "authentic history", he filled it with much of his own personal thought of history. Through the description of a conflict village for hundred years, Liu Zhenyun revealed the historical body advanced by right and desire, and delivered oneself of entirely new cognition. Experiencing 90s'social rupture and conformity, the author used his novel 《Gu xiang xiang chu liu chuan》to build up a set of cognitive way and intellectual system as to history,society,especially China. He was bold to compile history into text mode for people to read, and wrote out a great number of heroic characters and invented historical events. In his writing, thousands of Chinese history became a incredible,brutal farce which made readers have a double and incertitude taste, that is the distrust for history. In this essay the author by the completely toppling over of metaphor and change metaphor , criticized so called the "personality of the Chinese people", that is the Chinese people's common low quality, demonstrated the political prospect and people of illiterate mass. It was this deep cultural self-reflection and critical ideology that deepen Liu's further reflection about Lu Xun's reflection of all the people. At last, Liu completed his work of 《Gu xiang mian he hua duo》, and defined history and "gu xiang". In his work, he ultimately invented history world belonging to people's minds which reveal the truth between relationships: contest for the right in the language system. In the last volume of his works, Liu Zhenyun creatively destroy his own finished world history, and started from the language, found out the existing way closed over by human beings itself: Imagination and soul. "gu xiang"and history at last go into the inner minds of people, and personal soul is the hometown, spirit is also the hometown.
