This thesis studies wall paintings and pictorial stones of the Dahuting Han Dynasty Tombs in Mixian county systematically using a double-document method combining archaeological materials and historical references.In order to show importance of Dahuting Han Dynasty tombs in intercommunication between material and culture in history, an iconology is used to describe basic meanings and social functions of wall paintings and pictorial stones in the tombs.This thesis thinks Dahuting Han Dynasty tombs are important in Eastern Han times where the owner of the Tomb No.2 is female Royal member. The Songyue region in which Mixian county locates is the center of culture intercommunications and the medial belt where stone slab tombs and wall paintings tombs formed, which effected tombs decorations in Shandong Province, North Jiangsu Province, North Anhui Province and East Henan Province etc. |
