Recent years, there was much research work about Chinese quantifiers. Mostly from the classification of quantifiers, the quantifier phrase structure, the generation of a class or a quantifier, and the development of Chinese quantifiers from a diachronic perspective. The momentum words research rise in modern time, the main direction is the origin of the words and classification. In recent years people began to attach importance to the mix of Verbal and semantic analysis. This article through ancient literature and literary works, absorb the existing research results and analysis the generation and historical evolution of"过”and’‘次”from a diachronic perspective, and through the semantics of the two words and language analysis, research the inevitability that“过”was replaced by“次”.Finally, combining the’‘次”of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, I analysis some problems in teaching and provide the teaching suggestions. Text in addition to the introduction and conclusion, is divided into four chapters:Chapter one, momentum words Introduction. Presenting an overview of the momentum words generated time and classification. The first section through the research of ancient literature and modern research work, do an analysis of Chinese momentum words generated time. Section two introduce the different classification methods of the momentum words.Chapter two, the historical root of"过”.Section one is an analysis of the process of“过”is momentum words which is generated by the verb. Momentum word’‘过”was generated by the verb’‘过”which meaning was spent or pass, initially said that a number of passing. In Section two, I analyse the development and demise of the momentum word“过”.To the Northern and Southern Dynasties,’‘过”has become the most commonly used generic momentum words, which is widely seen in all kinds of literature works, it is almost unlimited and it can combine with various types of verbs. The widely used of this word reflected the face of the Chinese momentum words in a certain stage of development. After the rise of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, in the Tang Dynasty, the utilization rate of“过”was greatly reduced, showing a trend of shrinking, until eventual demise.Chapter three is the historical root of“次”.Section one is an analysis which is the production and maturing of "次”. It was only a trace, had not yet become a phenomenon in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the Tang Dynasty it still developed very slowly——only three cases in the "Whole Poetry of Tang Dynasty". It appeared in large numbers and was used after the Song Dynasty. Section two is the process that’‘过”was replaced by“次”and the situation of’‘次”in modern Chinese.“次”instead of’‘过”was a lengthy process. In a lot of literature and literary works, some momentum words as’‘回”,“度”in the Tang Dynasty impacted“过”,1eading to the use of“过”greatly reduced. Finally,’‘过”in the Yuan Dynasty was completely replaced by’‘次”and’‘次”had been in use ever since. In the modern Chinese system,“次”as a universal quantifier has been widely used.In Chapter four,“过”was replaced by“次”is inevitable and "次”in Chinese as a foreign language teaching. The first section is the inevitability of"次”instead of "过”through semantic feature analysis,“过”and"次”lot only have the same places, but“次’’is more suitable to language development requirements and communication needs,so“次”can completely replace the "过" and has been in use ever since. Section two is the“次”of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the TCFL practice, because“次”is a generic momentum word and the verb restrictions is little, open abuse of“次”isuniversal. For this reason, teachers should pay more attention to teaching.
