For a long time, the circle of theory of art has a kind of inclination, think that it is a scientific task to look for the truth, it is a task of the religion to ask well, it is the own job of art to ask beauty. Therefore in the aesthetic idea with unified truth, good and beauty, the importance of exploring "truth" could have be neglected. In fact that the "truth" is the most important basic point to realize one ideal of diagram of "truth, good and beauty" diagrammatic, this it is one that belong to basic category that art learn, involve artistic essence as well as concern the artistic expression issue, "truth" is a regularity shown in the period of moving, changing and development of the object world. In the painting, "truth" could include objective or subjective representation or emotion. Making a general survey of the development history of the human fine arts, we are not difficult to find: No matter reappear objectively or behave subjectively, ultimate goals of fine arts are all visited realistically truth, human art has actually "truth" explored ceaselessly all the time. Meaning in "truth " the graphics art is with the development of human graphics art, as the mankind knows and deepens to graphics art intension constantly constant transmutation and expanding prolonging. All art "truth", could unify with artistic origin, artistic spirit only, this paper analysis of the developmental history of western fine arts from the angle of trueness, and try to talk about this opinion under the help of works and theories of art. Exploring "truth" has realistic meaning to the problems like "absorbing and innovating" and "national character, time and individual character" China contemporary fine arts are facing.
