In this thesis, we count up the number of neutral-tone bisyllable words inModern Chinese Dictionary (2002 edition), and analyze these words by discussing their structural and semantic features. And the analysis of the neutral-tone bisyllable words mainly based on the facts in Modern Chinese Dictionary.This thesis studies the neutral-tone bisyllable words in modern Chinese. We try to divide the neutral-tone bisyllable words into "typical neutral-tone words" and "borderline neutral-tone words". We think that the former is main part of the dual-syllables neutral-tone words, and the latter can be regard as the synchronic middle state expression of the language diachronic-changing process.We focus on the conception and the classification of the neutral-tone bisyllable words. We try to find out the grammatical and internal factors of the neutral-tone words in modern Chinese. We believe that the emergence of the neutral-tone bisyllable words and the phenomenon of Grammaticalization are related. So we study the series of problems about the neutral-tone bisyllable words by the Lexicological, Semantic and Morphological methods.
